EGO MIND

EGO MIND

Ego mind's a truly terrible terror,

Continually leading us into error,

Wandering, illusive and perverted,

It causes practice to be diverted

From Self Remembering the goal of life,

The blissful state of sat-chit-ananda rife.

Mind must be controlled by disciplined rigor,

Watching flow of breath and japa with vigour,

Otherwise 'twill steal life's ultimate aim,

To free self from samsara in the name

Of truth and state of  Self Realisation,

No more earth's prisoner but liberation.

So demon mind's a merciless thief,

To end his tyranny brings great relief.
